EN-700 Java Programmer - Staff - New York, NY (Local Candidates Only)
Salary: BOE
New York City's leading weekly entertainment guide is expanding their programming staff and is looking for two Java programmers, an intermediate Java Programmer and a Senior Programmer / Team Lead.
The client has an exciting, energetic work environment in which all developers contribute significantly to the entire process of improving and building upon our company's online product. Our programmers are encouraged to think creatively and make a personal impact on the development of our application, while adhering to industry best practices to guarantee usability, maintainability, reliability and scalability.
They are looking for an programmers to help in the planning, development, testing, and maintenance of their websites and web applications. Individual will be expected to stay abreast of trends in web design, web standards, production, and technology, and contribute ideas and innovations for projects and methodologies, on an ongoing basis.
Responsibilities include:
o. Developing/enhancing the web application that manages their online content
o. Adding new modules and enhancing existing modules in their web application
o. Migrating legacy PHP tools into core Java-based app.
o. Providing leadership to other programmers (for the team lead position)
Requirements:
o. Experience building and deploying a commercial web sites with Java and J2EE (Required)
o. Experience with server technologies: MySQL, Tomcat, Apache (Required)
o. Experience with web delivery technologies: Javascript, JSP, AJAX, CSS (Requierd)
o. Experience with Hibernate, Struts, XML/XSL/XSLT (Required)
o. Experience with Apache/Tomcat and server load balancing (Required)
o. Experience withPHP experience a plus
o. Experience with web services, both from a client standpoint and a server standpoint a plus
o. Experience with information architecture design a plus
o. Experience with search engine optimization best practices a plus
o. Previous team lead experience (required for the team lead position)
o. Previous vendor management experience (required for the team lead position)
