JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
• This individual will work within the development group with a team of developers in developing court case management applications in both Java and Uniface.
• Analyzes and solves problems in existing systems
• Brings high-degree of Technical Credibility to the Role
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and deliver production quality software within tight schedules
• Takes part in the design, development, quality assurance, implementation and support process.
• Analyzes, reviews and rewrites database objects to increase operating efficiency and/or adapt to new functional requirements.
• May assist in producing data model design specifications from functional requirements.
• The candidate will develop and unit test all code assigned by their manager, and assist in the completion of system testing.
• Deliver unit tested code in accordance with development methodologies and standards.
• Provides technical expertise and guidance of database design to team members.
• Performs other duties as may be assigned by management.
Candidate must have excellent organizational, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to perform comfortably in a fast-paced, deadline-oriented work environment; ability to successfully execute many complex tasks simultaneously; and ability to work as a team member, as well as independently. Limited travel may be required.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in MIS, Computer Science, or a related field
EXPERIENCE:
• 5+ years' experience in the IT industry working in the area of product and/or application development
• 5+ years experience in design/development of complex applications on J2EE/multi-tiered based projects
• Good understanding of the key architecture considerations/issues associated with J2EE application infrastructures.
• Experience with software development lifecycle phases is required.
• Strong understanding of Service Oriented Architectures (SOA)
• Experience with Web Services, XML, and WSDL
• Strong software engineering background (waterfall, RUP, XP, agile, iterative)
• Development experience on technologies such as EII, EAI, BPM tools or ESB platforms
• Experience with UML and use case definition,
• Good working knowledge of OO design concepts and design patterns
• Strong IT planning and strategy background including capacity planning and deployment architecture definition
• Experience with database design and working knowledge on basic performance tuning of relational
• Working knowledge of government systems is a plus
• Experience with Open-Source Technologies, a plus (e.g., Tapestry, Jakarta Commons, Wicket, Restlet, Struts, JSTL, JUnit, Eclipse)
• Strong knowledge in each of the following:
• Java Servlets
• EJB
• JMS
• JDBC
• Java Script / Prototype
• CSS
• DHTML
• AJAX
• ANT
• Real Application Clusters (RAC)
• SQL, PL/SQL
• RedHat Linux, Windows
• CVS or Subversion
• Proficiency in the following is a plus:
• Oracle 10G Database administration
• MS SQL Server Database administration
