CA Email: Email Company Job title: Director, Financial Job description:         ADVERTISEMENT ADVERTISEMENT Position: Director, Financial Risk Management Company: Insurance Organization Location: Ontario Job ID: 20620 RESPONSIBILITIES: - Support the VP Financial Risk Management North America, in leading risk function as it relates to financial risks - Help embed risk management within the organization - Assure financial risks are appropriately governed, assessed and managed - Support organizational initiatives related to financial risk management - Work with USA Branch to help create and embed an appropriate risk appetite framework - Assure modelling accurately reflects the financial risks USA Branch faces and that USA Branch has adequate controls to manage within the risk appetite - Support the identification and prioritization of financial risk initiatives to maximize value for the organization - Work effectively with 1st line to support key financial risk initiatives - Help USA Branch develop risk management tools to assess risk/reward opportunities and be prepared to proactively take action across varying macroeconomic environments - Work with other functional areas to help implement investment strategies to enable the organization to realize on strategic and operational objectives utilizing the universe of investment opportunities including sophisticated derivatives - Assists in the direction of asset allocation decisions, ensuring risk considerations are embedded in decisions. - Assure USA Branch has a risk governance structure to support how risk is managed within USA Branch - Act as a “critical friend” to USA Branch by challenging and supporting investment and ALM business decisions using a risk lens - Act as FRM functional expert providing support to USA Branch's CRO business needs and helping to create a holistic portfolio view of risk, and works with Group FRM experts to help ensure consistency and best practices are deployed while addressing USA Branch specific issues QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, mathematics, statistics, economics, finance, or other related field or equivalent experience - FSA or equivalent designation is required - A graduate degree will be considered an asset - 7 or more years of experience in financial services industry - Experience specifically in annuity product development investments, or asset liability management with an understanding of modelling approaches - Solid negotiation and relationship building skills - Working knowledge of the capital markets with an understanding of all asset classes including derivative products and their uses in managing risks is required - An understanding of finance, economics, accounting, investment, insurance principles and practices and actuarial considerations is required - Strong knowledge of insurance products (life & annuity) - Seeking Canadian insurance experience, MCT skills - Aptitude in project management or similar organizational skills nasearchg.com Email Job to Yourself or Refer This Job » Contact Company »
